Tips on how to find them: Best time to watch foxes is during April-May, when the cubs venture above ground; rabbit warrens and cattle pasture are good areas to look for foxes; their dens called earths are taller compared to a badger sett, and face 45 degrees; footprints have four toes and are slightly narrower than those of a dog; dung varies in colour, but is usually long and has a small twist at one end; also sniff the air for a strong musky odour, which tells you that a fox has been around.
