I have just completed a project that I’ve spent the last year and a half working on, called ‘How to find Ireland’s amazing wildlife’. Inspired by a trip to Glendalough during the Easter break last year, it is filled with tips on how to find some of the elusive species that call Ireland home. I chose to highlight six species: badgers, foxes, bats, hedgehogs, eagles and great spotted woodpeckers. Much of the information comes from a few RSPB spotlight books dedicated to the aforementioned species. I’ve found these books in various libraries close to where I live. I have also included a table which explains the activity of badgers on each of the twelve months of the year, based on a poster in the Wicklow Mountains National Park information office in Glendalough; only here I have included my own drawings.
I hope you all find this a very useful resource if you want to look for any of the species I’ve highlighted.
