Interesting fact: An earlier relative of Triceratops, Psittacosaurus from early Cretaceous Asia, was found preserved with quill-like structures on the tail, which may have served a purpose in display or even defense. This evidence of quills in Psittacosaurus has led to the suggestion that other ceratopsians, including Triceratops itself, may have also possessed similar structures.
